Mel Holmes, Horticulture Therapist, Practitioner

Bachelor of Science, (Hons), Dip. College of OT, UK

Mel worked for 15 years in the UK as an Occupational Therapist, in hospital and community settings.
She came to gardening, embracing organic, no-dig and sustainable principles, becoming a Master Composter and sadly, slayer of worms in her worm farm.
Growing edible plants combines two of her favourite things, gardening and eating. She is enthralled by the differences in the plant repertoire in the different hemispheres as well as being delighted by all the weird plants and animals that are native to these parts. She has been able to combine her skills and interest in disability and gardening, as well as exploring creativity in her work at Kevin Heinze.

Brenna McIntyre, Community Liaison Manager

Bachelor of Arts (Sociology),

Having originally studied Interior Design, Brenna then made a vocational leap into the community sector more than 20 years ago.  To formalise things during this time Brenna completed a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and held a number of roles in both the community and local government sectors across Melbourne.  Over the last few years Brenna has come to appreciate the positive impact of being outdoors and, as a result, a budding interest in gardening and an increased connection with nature has been fostered.  These emerging interests compliment her love of art and architecture and a general interest in how environments, in all forms, impact on a person's emotional wellbeing.
